Victoria's five-day snap lockdown has ended as planned.

Premier Daniel Andrews announced on Wednesday morning that the Stage 4 lockdown would conclude at 11.59pm.

"This is not over there are still nine days to go for the last ... of the positive cases," he said.

"Whilst we can revert to almost all settings that applied last Friday there are some exceptions.

"The circuit breaker has worked."

The restrictions that will remain until Friday, February 26 are:

Masks are still required (indoors and outdoors) when you cannot socially distance.

Five visitors allowed in your home.

Twenty people in public gatherings.

One household visit per day to hospital and aged care facilities.

People can return to work to 50 per cent capacity in public and private sectors.

Retail and schools will open, funerals and weddings can go ahead in line with density limits of the venue they are being held in.

Sport and recreation can resume.

Today, the state recorded no new cases of coronavirus, Victoria has 25 active cases.

In the past 24 hours, 39,258 test results were received.

The five-day lockdown was introduced in response to a coronavirus cluster which started at the Holiday Inn quarantine hotel, in Melbourne.
