Traralgon fitness model Chrissy Warren has never been overseas but her first trip abroad to Thailand this week may be difficult to top.

The 32-year-old will take flight to Phuket today as a result of her most recent win – which she has hardly had time to digest.

"The All Female Classic was the very first competition I ever watched last year," Chrissy said.

"As soon as I walked away from it I just knew I was going to do it and that's what got me going."

Twelve months on at the very same meet, Chrissy took out the overall fitness model title at the All Female Classic last weekend.

Few expected her journey on the fitness circuit would come full circle after just 10 months of competition – least of which the woman herself.

"I honestly didn't think anything like this would happen in 10 months, and I'm still in my first year of competing," she said.

"The support from the community has been overwhelming ... just unbelievable."

The whirlwind will continue for Chrissy this week when she competes on the world stage against the best of the best at the ICN Southern Universe Championships.

"I still can't quite believe it. You don't go into the competition thinking 'yeah, I'm going to win', so I've had 10 days to plan everything," she said.

"I'm just so grateful for the opportunity, it's such a massive thing for me."

A pro card is up for grabs at the Southern Universe Championships, and a win for Chrissy could see her gain status as a fully fledged professional.

"I'm going in blind but at the moment I'm still on such a high," she said.

Partner Lisa Theodore couldn't help but marvel at Chrissy's progression over the past 12 months and will be right by her side in Phuket.

"I see what goes on behind the scenes and it's just absolutely amazing," Lisa said.

"She's really blitzing it at the moment but there are no expectations going into this other than [gaining] experience."

Chrissy admitted life on the fitness circuit was "not always highs".

She trains up to six times a week, teaches four fitness classes and sticks to a super strict diet.
