Two arrested after allegedly evading police

Two people are in custody after allegedly evading police at Morwell yesterday.

Morwell police said officers attempted to intercept a car on Chickerell Street about 10am on Sunday before it allegedly left the road and collided with a fence.

Police said the two occupants of the vehicle allegedly "took off" on foot.

A 23-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested a short time later.

A 23-year-old man, also of no fixed address, was arrested at Traralgon about 6pm last night.

The pair were assisting police with enquiries and will face Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court today, police said.

The man and woman are expected to be charged.

Information sought

Police are appealing for information in relation to an alleged assault at the Yinnar Bowls Club on Main Road in Yinnar last month.

Morwell Police alleged the incident took place on the bowling green between two opposing bowlers about 1.30pm on Wednesday, 9 August.
