Barrie Lester has become the first person to win four TRUenergy Yallourn Classic Singles titles after he defeated Garry Ball in the final this afternoon.
After a tight first hour on the greens Lester broke away to secure a 25 to 16 victory.
"I'm still in a bit of shock; it meant a lot to me, I suppose to come here and know that I've won three and expectations are probably high to achieve again," Lester said.
"It's great to finally get there but I didn't do it easy, I had a lot of tough opponents along the way."
The last of those opponents was Moonee Ponds teammate Ball, who ensured Lester didn't have it all his own way in the final.
"I was never home; Garry is such a consistent player and it's great we have him in our team every week," Lester said.
"We know he's very solid so it was never going to be over until the last bowl."
It was Ball that made the brighter start, drawing first blood with two shots on the opening end.
After finally getting on the board during the fourth end, Lester took control with the lead bowl to hold three on the next before a drive from Ball put the jack out of play and killed the end.
The pair traded blows until the decisive 23rd end.
High quality bowling from both players resulted in two shots for Lester, which took his lead to four.
He then rolled in seven shots in a row to seal the win.
