The East Gippsland Zone of Pony Clubs covers an area stretching from Trafalgar to Mallacoota and across to Yarram.

More than 130 riders from 18 clubs attended the event.

Winners now go on to represent the zone at the state titles, also to be held in Sale.

Riders from Moe Pony Club had a very successful day with Lauren Pollock and her horse Doddie winning the overall C grade showjumping event.

This followed on from their impressive win in the Sale World Cup pro am event in November.

Taylor Brown, with her pony Elvis, took out the championship in grade three dressage.

Being only 12 years old and competing against riders up to the age of 21, Taylor was the youngest rider in the event, and her pony the smallest.

Taylor and Elvis were also successful in their level of showjumping, winning the overall E grade championship.

Tahlia Cant and Eilish Hunt, placed fourth and third respectively in their jumping events.

The warm up competition of the state championships will be held on Saturday, 13 February and the championship will be held on Sunday, 14 February, both at Sale Polocrosse Grounds.
