MOE trainer, Peter Gelagotis scored his third metropolitan win of the season when comeback galloper, What's the Mail, saluted at Sandown Lakeside last Wednesday.
This was only the eight year-old's second run for the stable, the first being a third at Sandown Hillside.
What's the Mail is majority owned by the Whelan brothers based in the Metung/Lakes Entrance area.
``He had eight weeks on a water walker before he started work, but I've done nothing differently with him,'' Gelagotis said.
``He's been to the track just about every day and I've had no troubles with him at all.
``He hasn't missed a beat and it has been a while since he has put two good runs together, so hopefully he can now hold his form.
``I will probably keep him to mid-week class and there is a nice 0-89 back at Sandown in a couple of weeks, so that is probably where we will head.''
Moe trainer, Allison Bennett took training honours at Bairnsdale on Friday with a double and second placing from her four runners.
The first of the double was talented filly, Alpharari which like almost all of the winners, dictated terms from in front.
``There's a 0-72 metro meeting at Werribee on 8 July and the plan was to try and get a win here today to lift her rating and get her into that field,'' Bennett said.
``The firmer track made a difference. She doesn't like it heavy and the track was perfect here today.
``It was very heavy at Moe last start and although she ran fourth she never handled it.''
Bennett's second winner was Destinationunknown, which jumped to the front and was only headed for a stride on straightening, before scoring comfortably.
``He had a few little issues last preparation that held him back a bit,'' she said.
``He is over them now and he handles wet tracks, so hopefully he's in for a reasonable preparation.''
