Round 10 of Neilsons Builders Cup TDCA home-and-away cricket got underway Saturday with all games rain affected.
In a crucial round, the clubs striving for valuable points will have to be bold next week in search of the six points.
Centrals v Churchill
In the match of the day, Centrals won the toss and sent Churchill in.
Chris Williams (20) and Ben Kearns (21) got the Cobras off to a steady start of 31 before Williams went out.
When Kearns was dismissed Churchill was 2/47and then quickly 3/52.
Churchill lost 7/113 of 42 overs when rain stopped play.
John Keighran is 48 not out, giving the Cobras a good chance of scoring big next week.
Mark Rawson was the stand out for Centrals with 4/27.
Ex-Students v Glengarry
Glengarry won the toss and sent Ex-Students in with immediate success, as Barney Webber was out for five.
Then James Pryde went for 11 and the Sharks were 2/22.
A 38 run stand between Daniel Churchill (24) and Rick Battista (20) got the Sharks back on track.
When rain stopped played Ex-Students was 4 /110 from 44 overs.
Michael Warne is on 34 not out.
Toongabbie v Gormandale
The 2010/11 grand finalists clashed for the first time this season and Mark Nicholls had no hesitation in sending Gormandale into
bat.
The move paid off as the reigning premiers had the Tigers ducking at 3/22.
With Adrian Burgiel still at the crease, Gormandale was hopeful of a reasonable score but when he went for 33 the Tigers were all out for 101.
Mark Nicholls was superb taking 6/46 of 20 overs, while Tom Shippen and Jason Veneman both took 2.
The Rams were in the box seat to keep their dominance over the Tigers, but due to an underwhelming performance their title defence is not looking good.
The pace of Adrian Burgiel and movement of Shaun Barbour completely shut them down, as the Rams were bowled out for 50.
Burgiel took 5/8 off seven and Barbour took 5/23 off 13.
When bad light stopped play the Tigers were 0/9 in their second innings.
CATS v Imperials
In its last home-and-away game, CATS (bye round 11) won the toss and sent Imperials into bat.
The move paid off as the Imperials were bundled out for 88 in 42 overs.
Only Luke Owen (30) and Brad Wright (29) managed double figures.
Stan Grazotis 5/31 and Michael Bloomfield 3/12 were sensational for CATS.
In a bold move, CATS put the foot to the pedal as they raced to 7/105 declared off 20 overs with Jack Moore 34 and Michael Bloomfield 32 top scoring.
CATS have Imperials in big trouble in the second innings at 3/18 with an outright victory looking likely for the home team.
