LATROBE Regional Hospital will become awash with pink on Thursday when 100 pink silhouettes form a mini field of women to pay tribute to those with breast cancer.
The sea of colour will honour patients, their families and nurses.
``This is an opportunity to show support for women from right across Gippsland who have been affected by breast cancer,'' cancer care nurse Erme Maxwell said.
Breast cancer sufferer Christine Burge will be joined on the day by her grandson Hudson Robinson and family.
Mrs Burge was diagnosed in September last year, confirming her suspicions she had cancer.
``It was upsetting but I had an overwhelming feeling of a fight on my hands and just `let's get on with it','' Mrs Burge said.
``You don't know what you're in for.''
She has finished chemotherapy and radiation and is now taking breast cancer drug Herceptin.
``I'm really looking forward to it (the field of women), it is a really important occasion to celebrate our achievements,'' Mrs Burge said.
The field of women will be set up in the foyer of the Monash University School of Rural Health and will move out onto the front lawn of Latrobe Regional Hospital, weather permitting, at 1pm.
