SUE Davidson has a nervous few days ahead of her as the final round of the 2008 AFL season approaches.
The Traralgon woman is ranked among the top 10 tippers against 270,000 other hopefuls in a major AFL footy tipping competition on footytips.com.au.
A Carlton supporter and huge Chris Judd fan, Sue's strategy has been just ``to go with my gut feeling''.
``I've always been a footy fan but I know just as much about the game as any other person,'' she said.
It is the second year Sue has competed as a tipper on the website and the first time she has come close to the top.
At round 21, she was on a total score of 128 correct tips for the 2008 season.
``Once I realised I was moving up the ladder it was really exciting,'' she said.
Sue works at Latrobe Regional Hospital in the clinical services department.
She said she paid no attention to the tips of her colleagues or friends and instead just stuck with her gut feeling.
``I don't really look at it (the website) until the Friday,'' she said.
``I check to see who is injured but I don't go by the history.''
Sue said she entered the competition ``just for fun'' and wasn't sure what she would do with the first prize, a Nintendo Wii.
General manager of footytips.com.au Simon Kelly described Sue's effort as ``freakishly good tipping''.
``Tipping such a score is an enormous challenge,'' he said.
``Sue has tipped an average of 6.1 correct tips per round for the entire season.''
For those looking to follow Sue's tipping, her pick for the 2008 grand final is Geelong versus North Melbourne.
``I think Geelong will win,'' she said.
``They have been the team to beat all year and they have some fantastic depth.''
