Moe man fighting for his life

08 Feb, 2012 08:04 AM
A 42 year-old Moe man was bashed on the head with a hammer overnight, and is now fighting for his life in the Alfred Hospital.

According to a Police Media report, the victim was at a residence in Dinwoodie Drive with family and friends when a man knocked at the front door about 10pm.

The two men, who are believed to have known each other, began an argument.

The other man let himself through the unlocked security door and hit the victim on the head with a hammer.

The victim managed to escape and sought refuge at a neighbour's home.

Police attended the scene and arrested a 45-year old Morwell man who is assisting police with their investigation.
