Extension granted

10 Feb, 2012 11:12 AM
A SIX-month extension has been granted to HRL to secure $100 million in Federal Government funding for its proposed dual-gas fired power station to be built in Morwell.

The extension will allow HRL to meet project milestones as required by the grant, awarded to the company in 2007.

The announcement, made today, comes as HRL and environmental groups make their closing submissions to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal over the Environment Protection Authority's decision to approve a smaller version of the proposed plant.

Disgraceful decision by the Gillard Government. so short-sighted. Coal is a dead end, literally, and this plant will never get built. They are just wasting taxpayer money.
